Windjammer Voyages

Come aboard as guest crew and experience the challenge of a voyage on a traditional sailing ship. Our schedule for 2012 will include voyages on the East Coast from Baltimore to Gloucester. Some voayges will include sailing in company with the Tall Ships fleet as the schooner sails between Tall Ships and OpSail events. Click on the links below for voyage specific information.

Booking a Voyage
Individuals
To join the crew for a voyage a 50% non-refundable deposit is required. The balance is due seven days before departure. All fees are non-refundable except in the event we are able to rebook your voyage with another party.
Groups
To book a voyage a 10% non-refundable deposit is required. A second non-refundable payment of 50% of the remaining voyage fee is due by April 1st, and the final balance is due 30 days before departure. All fees are non-refundable except in the event we are able to rebook your voyage with another party. Please contact us at 989-895-5193 if you wish to book a group.
Speciality Voyages
Pilotage and Seamanship
Sail the open lake on these learning voyages: Ideal for sailors interested in
developing the skills necessary for making extended passages under sail. Topics
covered will include: passage planning, pilotage and navigation, safety underway,
anchoring, overnight passage making, weather forecasting, intermediate seamanship,
and craft of traditional sail.
Nature Photography Cruise with Kent Miller
Join Central Michigan University photography instructor Kent Miller for a sail on beautiful Northern Lake Huron. On board you will learn the basics of
photography and shoot daily assignments. Topics will include wildlife/landscape
photography, portraiture composition, light, camera controls, exposure, Photoshop,
flash and more. Your work will be critiqued. A digital camera is required. A
digital single lens reflex camera (DSLR) is highly recommended.
The Appledore IV and Appledore V are certified by the U.S. Coast Guard and are camanded by licenced captains. BaySail is a member of the American Sail Training Association (ASTA) and a past recipient of the ASTA "Sea Education Program of the Year" award.
