Windjammer Voyages

Sailing Lake Huron’s beautiful Cheneaux Islands and the North Channel, the Schooner Appledore V will be your floating home for a 3 – 5 day voyage. Enjoy the best freshwater sailing in the world and explore the pristine northern wilderness from remote anchorages. Kayaking, small boat sailing, and wilderness hiking opportunities are available along the way. Each trip topped off with a beach cook-out. All voyage departures from Cheboygan Michigan. Sail the open lake on these learning voyages: Ideal for sailors interested in developing the skills necessary for making extended passages under sail. Topics covered will include: passage planning, pilotage and navigation, safety underway, anchoring, overnight passage making, weather forecasting, intermediate seamanship, and craft of traditional sail. Nature Photography Cruise with Kent Miller
Join Central Michigan University photography instructor Kent Miller for a sail on beautiful Northern Lake Huron. On board you will learn the basics of photography and shoot daily assignments. Topics will include wildlife/landscape photography, portraiture composition, light, camera controls, exposure, Photoshop, flash and more. Your work will be critiqued. A digital camera is required. A digital single lens reflex camera (DSLR) is highly recommended. Click here for dates.
